Today, as part of my special
series of Valentine’s interviews, I’m excited to have with me Casey Griffin.
Tomorrow is release day for the second novel in her Rescue Dog Romance Series, BEAUTY AND THE WIENER. If you love light hearted romance and dogs, then this is the perfect series for you.
1.) Can you tell us a little
bit about Beauty and the Wiener? What genre is it and what makes it unique?
It’s
a fun romance with a bit of mystery about twenty-eight-year-old doggy stylist
Addison Turner who hopes that the upcoming dog show will help her Fido Fashion
line start off on the right paw. However, when her four-legged customers go
missing during an event, and fingers point at her, she’s forced to team up with
rugged bartender, Felix Vaughn, to solve the case.
I
had a lot of fun writing this one because Addison’s quite the quirky character,
and her connection with Felix is very entertaining and steamy. But what makes
this series unique is that the beloved pets don’t just exist in the background.
They’re an active part of the plot. It makes it especially fun for dog lovers!
2) Since it’s almost
Valentine's day, tell me about the romance in the book! What is the
relationship between the two characters like?
There’s
an instant physical connection between Addison and Felix, and their encounters
are both fun and steamy. Addison puts up a good fight against her desire for
the bartender, but when the plot really throws them together, she begins to
question her true feelings for him and what she really wants in a man. Maybe
her chance for happily ever after won’t be just a fantasy, after all.
3) What would be the ideal
Valentine's Day date for the couple in your book?
Felix
is a pretty down-to-earth guy, but that’s okay, since Addison likes to use any
excuse to dress up, even a night-in enjoying Felix’s culinary skills. The extra
effort would make Addison feel like a princess. And sitting through one of her
favorite rom-coms would help him get his happily ever after—if you know what I mean.
Huh? Huh?
4) What are your all-time
favorite romantic books or movies?
Movies
definitely play a big part in Beauty and the Wiener, so I’ll tell you my fave
flicks. I lean toward romances that make me laugh and leave me smiling at the
end like:
How
to Lose a Guy in Ten Days
Pride
and Prejudice
500
Days of Summer
The
Princess Bride
50
First Dates
Leap
Year
Bridget
Jones’s Diary
Under
the Tuscan Sun
Blurb:
A TAIL AS OLD AS TIME…
Addison Turner has scripted a perfect future for herself,
complete with a fairytale ending. She will become the name in doggie fashion
design and live happily ever after with the husband of her dreams—and her
dachshund, Princess, by her side. Just when her plan is on track and she’s
gaining recognition at the local dog show, Addison is hit with some
Oscar-worthy drama. A group of prize-winning show dogs are stolen from under
her nose, and she’s stuck asking for help from Felix Vaughn, an infuriatingly
hot bartender who is the exact opposite of Prince Charming.
When more dogs go missing—and Felix becomes a suspect—the two
team up to clear their names. Although Felix and Addison fight like cats and
dogs, there’s an undeniable spark between them. And as the trail to the missing
dogs heats up, so does their red-hot chemistry. Can Addison be persuaded to
throw away her script to find an ending that just might be better than she ever
expected?
