Writing Friends Challenge: Staying cool

My novels are twisty contemporary New England mysteries centered on feist women who rise up with determination, heart, and a passion for justice when crime strikes their small-town communities. Their idea of the perfect way to stay cool on a summer day—or evening—is to find a private spot by a river or pond, kick back, maybe go swimming, but most of all just relax. Of course, if they aren’t alone, that supposedly cool relaxing time might turn hot. ;) #ScandalMountainAntiquesMystery #AmWritingMystery #MysteryProject #sincne #VermontAuthor #VTSincNE @writer.friends.challenge #Bookstagram #BookClub #MysteryNovel

Senses and Antiquing

One of the many reasons I wrote the Scandal Mountain Antiques Mystery series is because as a real-life antique dealer I know first-hand the sensory experiences connected with evaluating antiques. Smell is obvious. Don’t ever buy something second hand that hasn’t passed the sniff test. Taste is the least frequently used, but at times is an invaluable tool. Sight again is obvious and strengthened when paired with gut instinct…For more thoughts about how senses are invaluable when antiquing checkout my article in Crime Reads--Flea Market Cons and Other Slippery Shenanigans
